The emerging idea of creating a scientific society for GP Practice took place in 1988 in a series of meeting between the drs Nazih Mahfouz, Abdo Ephram, Hilal Waked, Youssef Saiid, Hassan Zeidan, Charbel Azar, Talal Chartouni, Walid Khankarli, Sami Raychouni, Ghassan Al Zohayri.

These meetings lead to the creation of the Constituent body and the members elected Dr. Abdo Ephram its president and Dr. Hassan Zeidan as secretary.

The Constituent body took the premises of the Order of Physicians its headquarter.

The Constituent body took care of the society till 1997 when the General Assembly was called upon to elect an administrative committee according to the directives of the Scientific Committee in the Order of Physicians.

The General Assembly elected a new administrative committee for 3 years as follows:

– Dr. Nazih Mahfouz          President

– Dr. Abdo Ephram              Vice-President

– Dr. Hassan Zeidan           Secretary

– Dr. Lion Fornolozian        Treasurer

And the doctors: Nizar Msheik, Michel Hgeili, Ghassan Zoheiri, Hassan Zib, Mohamad Kashou3, Sami Rayshouni, Georges Chaer and Walid Khankarli as members.
